Menopause Yoga 40-hours Teacher Training with Petra Coveney in Brussels.

Dates : 11 - 15 mars 2026

Schedule : 10am - 4pm

Menopause Yoga is a specialist yoga practice and positive wellbeing programme designed to support women from perimenopause to post menopause. It is a non-dogmatic practice, programme and approach that seeks to Educate women, Empower them with a toolkit of techniques and encourages them to Embrace the menopause as an opportunity for self-transformation and growth. The key to flourishing in Second Spring is embracing more self-kindness, self-compassion, self-acceptance – and prioritising personal self-care.

This training offers different classes and content for the different stages of the menopause (peri menopause, menopause and post menopause) and helps women to manage some of the main symptoms.

This course is designed to:

  1. Provide an overview of Menopause : the biological impact, the medical facts and the historical and cultural context that can impact on a woman’s* experience of menopause.

  2. Provide an overview of holistic ways that women*can manage their menopause symptoms, including general guidance on nutrition, natural remedies, supplements, complimentary therapies, and other lifestyle changes.**

  3. Train teachers how to teach Menopause Yoga classes and workshops to women who are going through a stage of the menopause and after and understand why these techniques are used. Hold space in Women’s Circle discussions.

  4. Provide guidance on how to modify the asana poses, breathwork and meditation to ensure women can practice safely. Where possible, modifications will be demonstrated using yoga props and variations to support women who have physical injuries or conditions that may include menopause symptoms such as hot flushes, headaches, anxiety, fatigue, joint and muscle pain, osteopenia.

*The cis gender medical term ‘Women’ is used to describe the people who experience menopause, however, people including transgender men and non-binary people also experience menopause.

**Women and people are always advised to consult a doctor or medical expert for serious health concerns. Menopause Yoga aims to help women to transition through the menopause and can help women alleviate some symptoms - but it is not intended to replace medical support.

By the end of the course, participants should be able to:

Understand menopause as a natural biological phase in a woman’s life, the health risks and medical approaches, and to communicate these accurately and factually to women.

  1. Understand the principles behind Menopause Yoga and apply these in teaching.

  2. Be equipped with information to lead Menopause Yoga and Wellbeing workshops and classes. Start to Hold Space in Women’s Circle discussions. Please note: this course is experiential; it is not an in-depth guide to Women’s Circles. Petra Coveney offers an additional short course in Women’s Circles.

  3. Apply the principles of Menopause Yoga&Wellbeing to their own lives.

  4. Continue their own research and reading into Menopause using the resources and list of references.

  5. The course provides an overview of Ayurveda, nutrition, natural remedies, supplements, and other lifestyle changes that a woman can make to support herself through menopause. The course does NOT qualify you to act as an Ayurvedic practitioner, counsellor, naturopath, nutritionist or expert in any other complementary therapy.
